Frustrated by the lack of options in style and fit of women's motorcycle apparel , Denise Maple quit her career in banking and founded VaVaVroom in 2007. Today the company provides female motorcycle enthusiasts with fashionable, functional motorcycle clothing and gear for women of all sizes.
The Chicago-based businesswoman is not only active in the motorcycling community, but is involved in many civic and community groups. On a personal note, I always enjoy meeting Denise at motorcycle conferences around the USA, and being a sister co-host on SideStandUp Motorcycle Radio. And I love her designs - the V-Twin shirts, and the One of Those Girl shirts, too.
Denise is also an inspiring and creative businesswoman, finding ways to include the community in growing and sharing the spirit of motorcycling. For example, she ran an "Are You One of Those Girls" contest on the VaVaVroom Facebook Page, which got women to submit their stories for a chance to win products. It was fun looking at all the entries, and participating by voting for your favorite.
