I just stumbled across this site and since everyone asks me how to do this (though I never have) I thought I'd share it. It looks pretty useful and was last updated in Feb 2005. I just did find that you need "green card" insurance for some countries (for example, Albania, Croatia). If you're renting a bike and will go to those countries the rental agency will do it for you. I've no idea how to go about getting that kind of insurance for your own bike. I was checked for this type of insurance when I crossed into Albania from Greece.

Adriatic Photos Fixed

Thanks for alerting me to the fact my photo links are broken in this blog. All the photos are now uploaded on my Around the Adriatic site. I'm in Mandello del Lario back at the B&B Dell'Acqua Bianca and in Moto Guzzi land. Today though, I was off the bike entirely and on a hiking trail that took me to a tiny church up in the mountains. The entire trail followed a river that had countless waterfalls and swimming holes. It was 6 hours of pure bliss, not a difficult hike at alll; plenty of lounging around a swimming hole, sunning on a rock. I didn't even take my camera! Enjoy the photos and look for dispatch updates soon. My hands are pretty wiped, especially my thumbs, so I need a rest from the motorcycle and the computer. - Carla
